A person sits at a table with a robot across from him. the person is working on a laptop. Various symbols of website programming float in the area above them.

Artificial intelligence is a fantastic tool – but from our perspective, that’s all it is. It can’t replace a human understanding and perspective – at least not yet and probably not any time soon.

That’s not to say we don’t use it – it’s a great tool for certain things. It has its place and can help streamline web development.

But we want to ensure you that real people will listen to you and build your site or work on whatever project you have in mind. We just wanted to share our perspectives so you know where we stand!

Our Thoughts on Using AI

AI supports our work; it doesn’t replace it

We use AI the same way we use other modern tools. It’s great for assisting, accelerating, and exploring options. Soemtimes it helps find solutions more quickly, especially when we’re trying to deal with something that would be unique to a site.

But our initial recommendations and final decisions are done by humans. Real people handle the structure and implementation of your new project.

We don’t think AI is ready to replace human judgment, especially when work needs to reflect a client’s goals, brand, and real-world constraints.

Practical uses, not shortcuts

So far, we’ve found AI useful for things like:

  • Exploring approaches to custom features
  • Drafting or refining small pieces of code
  • Stress-testing ideas before implementation
  • Speeding up research and troubleshooting

Used like this it allows us to focus more time on structure, clarity, and problem-solving instead of repetitive groundwork.

Human judgment still matters

There are areas where we intentionally do not rely on AI, including:

  • Strategic decisions about site structure or goals. We may run ideas past an AI to see if it suggests something we may have missed, but that’s all.
  • Final content voice and messaging. These come from you– we may help compose text, but you and your brand have a voice, and that’s what we want to share.
  • Design judgment and usability choices. A real human touch is needed to make the site relatable!
  • Client-specific problem solving. AI regurgitates what it finds, but YOU are unique. And our solutions will be, too.

These areas require context, nuance, and accountability — things that still depend on human experience.

Better tools, same responsibility

AI can help create better and more innovative solutions if used correctly. It can surface ideas faster and make experimentation more efficient, sure. But it doesn’t change our responsibility to deliver work that is clear, stable, and appropriate for each client.

We don’t want to automate things just for the sake of automation – that’s just one of the tools that can help us put together a better result for you!
